Freedom Fighters #1 came out in April 1976. The team came to Earth One because there were "no credible threats" on Earth X any more.
The team of Uncle Sam, The Human Bomb, Phantom Lady, Black Condor, Doll Man, and The Ray made their way through 15 issues. A long the way they added Firebrand.
Even with great cover art, the team just couldn't survive an inconsistent creative team.

As you can see from the covers, the team went all over the place. Unlike me, many readers gave up on the title and it was canceled.
The team that could, didn't.
