Remembering Dead DC Heroes

Memorial Day is to remember those soldiers who we lost.

Today I am remembering those DC Heroes whose death have stood for years.  Unlike Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, and Batman; many DC heroes had died and stayed dead.

Many are not so memorable to most but I miss them because I loved the characters.

Here is my top characters I miss who have died in the DC Universe but have yet to come back to it.

12. Atom\Atom Smasher In the pages of Earth 2: Worlds End.  I have always loved Al Pratt. He was a great contrast to Ray Palmer.  Sadly DC killed him off before they could develop him more.

11. Atomic Knight Final Crisis #4.  Armored with armor of the Knights of Old.  This high tech version had lots of potential. The slight resemblance to IRON MAN may have made DC balk at using him any more.

10.Vigilante (Adrian Chase) Vigilante 50.  I miss this Marv Wolfman version of Vigilante. He had layers to his personality.  The only great replacement would be his immediate successor Pat Trayce.  Sadly she has not been seen in a while as well.

9.  Thunder and Lightning (Gan and Tavis Williams) Salvation Run 7.  Another pair created by Marv Wolfman.  These too were never really used well after their introduction.  The twins were Vietnamese \ alien hybrids  had great powers and would have made cool Teen Titans, but DC chose otherwise.

8. Super-Chief  52 #24 2004 I never really like the name, but the concept was very cool.  The fact that calling any Native American Chief who was not is racist is probably why DC ditched him.  Renaming him something else would have made this hero more viable.

7. Tarantula (Catalina Flores) Secret Six vol. 3, #7 (March 2009).  A bad ass Hispanic would have been a great addition to DC heroes, but I think that the direction that put her in may have been a big whole writers could not have dug her out of.

6.  Nemesis JSA #58.  A Bad ass woman that just didn't fit well after the story she was in ended.

5.  Red Tornado (John Smith). Not dead but replaced by the new Earth 2 version who is Lois Lane.

4. Maxima SUPERMAN:  MAN OF STEEL 117.  This is another female heroine who just didn't get used very well.  Sadly rather than explore her potential, they killed her.

3.Dolphin Infinite Crisis #3 and erased from current continuity  Dolphin, before she was killed was Tempest's (The original Aqualad) wife.  He too hasn't been seen in a long time.

2. Elongated Man 52 #42. Along with his wife, Elongated man created a sense of fun with their quirky detective skills.

1. Air Wave Infinite Crisis #4.  He was one of the fun heroes from the 70s (a reboot of the original Air Wave).  Sadly both is his secret Identity and hero name may have been his demise.

This is my list.  There are many more to include the One-Shot POWER BOY, but sadly I don't have time to write volumes it would take.

That is all for now.

Comicbook Resources list 75 top Batman Stories

In Honor of Batman's 75th Anniversary Comic Book Resources has listed their list of 75 best Batman Stories.

I don' agree with many of them, but that is my opinion.  Besides I haven't read many of the Batman titles in some time.

And from the look of this list it doesn't include any of the Brave and the Bold stories.

I encourage you to look at the link and see if you favorite story is on it.

The list is on the link below.
