A SIlver Age Comic Book Series

Many readers today may have never heard of STRANGE ADVENTURES, but they probably have heard of a handful of the characters who were first introduced on the pages of it.

The following are the more popular characters introduced:

Each of these characters has been featured either own title or other titles. Deadman and Adam Strange are the most popular of the group, but Captain Comet, The Enchantress, and Animal Man have big runs in a varied amount of comics.

The following are a list of the characters and there appearances:

  • Chris KL-99 (issues 1-3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15)
  • Darwin Jones (issues 1, 48, 58, 66, 70, 76, 77, 79, 84, 88, 93, 149, 160)

STRANGE ADVENTURES The Next Generation:

The title has show up in one form or another since the 1970s.

In 1978 it was the original title for a new science fiction title, the title was changed to TIME WARP. Sadly that book was canceled after Issue #5. To be honest the stories were average Sci-Fi at best.

STRANGE ADVENTURES gets VERTIGO

Well not really. VERTIGO took a stab a 4 issue mini-series in

The JSA Gets STRANGE

DC did this mini-series in 2009. It's a great mini. It has it's share of strange but it reads more like a JSA story.

STRANGE ADVENTURES Gets VERTIGO again

Vertigo introduced a one shot in 2011 and that was the last time DC Published the title.

Only Time will tell if STRANGE ADVENTURES or the many characters that are currently gracing the pages of comics will reappear.

To Be continued.....

DC TO PRODUCE NEW ANIMATED SHORTS

DC to create a new series of animated shorts for Warner Bros Entertainment.  They will be like the ones that were on Cartoon Network that can be seen on DC Universe.

I am excited to here this news because I have enjoyed the the current set of shorts.  For those who have not seen them, the are worth it. The flowing are samples of what is currently available:

DC NATION SHORTS

DC Nation Shorts: DeadmanDC Nation Shorts: Plastic ManDC Nation Shorts: Wonder WomanDC Nation Shorts: Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld

This is only 6 of the 25 serialized shorts that are available to watch.  All of them can be seen on DC Universe.

I have to admit that the majority of the shorts were goofy, but remember they were geared for a younger audience.  I hope that the new shorts help expand the DC Universe and also lead to more shorts.

Check out the following link for more information about DC Nation Shorts:

My suggestions for the next round of Shorts

I would like to see the following shorts:

1. Jonah Hex
2. Sword of the Atom -more episodes
3.The Warlord
4. Kamandi, Last Boy On Earth
5.The "Original" Seven Soldiers of Victory
6. The Haunted Tank
7. The Creeper
8. Legion Lost
9. Rose and Thorn
10.The Question
11. Paul Kirk, Manhunter
12. The Spectre

I probably could go on and on on this list because the number of stories and characters are numerous.

That's all I have for this post.

Go Forth and Do Well,
