CW Shows Amping up DC Heroes

Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl are adding more heroes to their mix next season.

Supergirl is adding Superman for 2 Episodes.

Arrow is adding Vigilante and Wild Dog.

Legends of Tomorrow is adding Vixen, Hourman, and Citizen Steel so far.

And we have heard very little from Flash let. Although we pretty much know that Jessie Quick and Kid Flash will be joining the show.

We will see.  I know I missed some other heroes, but these stuck out to me.

Rebirth Grade so Far

DC is getting it right.

Its matching of the best of the old with cool new stories makes it worth a read.

My buy pile which was shrinking, for at least for now, is growing again.

New looks at different books makes me happy to read titles I had since dropped.

DC sales Lagging because of Small companies not Marvel

Marvel is taking a lot of credit for beating DC lately.

If you look at the Graph of sales from April of 2016, you will see that the combined sales of the Independents is far more a threat to both DC and Marvel than Marvel vs. DC.

This is traditionally not the case.  DC is losing ground because it needs to find its Niche.The small publishers, although each can't measure up to DC sales, combined are eating into DC sales and not Marvel's  Image has been the largest of that competition.

Hopefully the launch of rebirth which gets back to the core values of the line will bring DC back to being on par with Marvel again.

DC's TV finales will have wondering all sumer

DC creating a new kind of Cliff hanger on tv.

SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVE'T SEEN IT

Here is the rundown.

1. SUPERGIRL:  Who is the person in the space ship.

2. LEGENDS OF TOMORROW:  Rex Tyler (Hourman of the JSA) telling the team not to get on the ship. Even more strange was that it was Heat Wave who told him to tell the team.

3. THE FLASH:  Barry goes back in time and creates the live action events of FLASHPOINT.  In addition to that Jay Garrick says he is from Earth 3.  Hmmmmmm  we will see what happens with this one especially that two members of the JSA are now on two different shows.  And will the Time Wraiths on THE FLASH show up on LEGENDS OF TOMORROW not that the TIME MASTERS are gone?

4.  ARROW:  that is to be continued in a revised version of this post once ARROW is aired.

DC is looking for a few good writers

DC is doing a search for new writers, but there is a catch:

You have to already have comics experience.

Now I like that they looking for new blood,

I am concerned that that they are not looking for real new talent.

New talent needs to bring new ideas to the table.

I have lots of ideas.

I have written for publications.

I have not written for comics.

I am a fan of comics, and with the right training, I could bring some unique stories to print.

I am also sure there are others who could do that is well.

Food for thought.

Hopefully I am wrong and DC Rebirth helps to bring DC back as a leader of the comics world.

The Killing Joke Preview

Batman V Superman Gets B-

Unlike others who review the film, I am only going to tell you the best and worst of the film


Best

1. Wonder Woman
2. Batman
3. Alfred
4. Basic story

Worst
1. Lex Luthor
2. Batman's Dreams
3. Too much stuff in one movie

The movie works hard to be an A, but when you put too much stuff and make Doomsday little more than a lackey you get a B-.

SPOILER ALERT:  SO IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE, DO NOT READ THE FOLLOWING.

Otherwise I loved the movie. It is like someone one mashed together the comic book stories DARK KNIGHT RETURNS (FRANK MILLER STORY) AND DEATH OF SUPERMAN (THE DAN JURGENS STORY). And the filmmakers added preludes to the Justice League (ergo Dawn of Justice in the title).

So, as I said when saw the new title, 20 LBs of stuff in a 10 LB page.  It is entertaining never-the-less.

Batman V. Superman coming

A film that has been Decades in the making is a cliched saying, but in the case of Batman V Superman that is true.

I have waited a long time for this to happen.

The problem with the movie is that it is trying to do too much.  Mind you, I have yet to see it.

But the sheer volume of info that I have read about tells me that the film makers are trying to put to many things into one film.

The simple premise of Batman V Superman minus a villain is a cool idea.

Add in not just one, but two or three and then you are asking the viewer to get overloaded by the film.


WARNER AND DC PLEASE LISTEN UP FROM NOW ON- USE THE K.I.S.S.  (Keep It Simple Stupid) Principle when creating entertainment.

That formula works well for almost all of the DC TV Shows that have premiered recently, with the exception of Constantine.

Please don't get me started on that show.

That being said, I am going to keep an open mind when I go to see the newest DC Movie.

Arrow Episode connects CW Seed to Arrowverse

VIXEN joins the ARROWVERSE.

I am please to say that Vixen, whose CW SEED series I loved, now joins Arrow.

It is a cool way to open up DC universe to the rest of tv land.
